Countdown to September 15th

I can't wait for the trip to Montreal next month! Eight days of exploration and relaxation en Francaise! Which reminds me...I'd better pull out the Cds and brush up on my less-than-adequate French. I tease Richard by speaking to him in loud and poorly pronunciated French, butchering it as much as I can. The Little Pest in me thinks its pretty darn funny. However, I will have to make a serious effort to revive the second language I was taught in school. Thank goodness Montreal has its English-speaking communities.
It has been recommended that we begin our visit with a bus tour of the city. I'm not sure if Richard was keen on the idea when I told him, but I think it's a great way to begin!
We'll be staying at a Hostel (Auberge de Montreal....ou Paris), in a private room. If I were more adventurous, we probably would have taken the common sleeping room for significantly less in price! I haven't ever stayed at a hostel, so I'm taking this in "baby steps". Maybe ten years from now I'll be backpacking my way around Europe! Or not....lol.
Because we have to keep costs low, we will only be visiting a few major sights. But there's plenty to do and see for free! I'll be sure to post lots of pics.
We're pretty much taking a fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants approach to the vacation. That's what its all about, eh? But when it is time to move....well....more about that later :)

A New Path

For most of you this will come as no surprise, but there are still a few of you who do not yet know my plans for the future. As the title of this blog suggests, it is my plan to move from Port Perry to Montreal....next year.
I didn't arrive at this decision overnight! I've been thinking about moving for many months now. However, until recently, I wasn't exactly sure where I would move to. And then....I found what I was looking for. Searching Colleges and Universities online, I discovered a school in Montreal that has a 3-year Business Marketing and Management course with free tuition. That's right....FREE tuition. The only catch is...you have to be a Quebec resident in order to apply.
I always knew this day would come, but I hadn't planned on it for another 3 or 4 years. I imagined going back to school after both kids were finished High School. But when opportunity knocks, I'm old enough now to know that one must answer. And so I have. Or will. Next year.
In this blog I will record the ups and downs of the next year of life as we (my kids, Richard and me) set our feet upon a new path and begin to make our way towards a life in Montreal.
